Nine Months

Happy 9 months, my sweet girl! This month brought teeth and standing and saying your first words, but it didn't bring us a whole lot of sleep.

Likes:
Being allowed to explore her surroundings
Standing
Crawling
Crunchy Snacks
When her sister gives her attention
Repeating sounds back to us/making loud sounds

Dislikes:
Growing teeth
Sleeping while even the littlest bit hungry
Not being within eyesight of a person
Containment devices (pack n play, crib, play pen, etc)
Being seated

Schedule:
Sleep is still evasive for us. She's usually still up at least once a night for some food and cuddles. The family is up by 6:30 and we all get ready for school or whatever the day had in store for us. Daniel drops both girls off on weekdays by 8 am and then its working and cleaning until 4:30 pm. I go pick the girls up and we are pretty much just a madhouse of dinners and making sure Lark isn't hurting herself and bath times until 6:45 when Lark goes to sleep. On weekends, we go with the flow. Luckily, Lark will still sleep in the carrier and also her car seat. She's finally ok with the car seat!

Features:
Sweet big girl has FOUR teeth. Two on the top and two on the bottom so far. This is one of my favorite tooth ages because she looks like a hippo. Her hair is getting so long that it doesn't stick straight out anymore, which makes me a little sad. I packed up the 6-9 month clothing this week and unpacked the 9-12 month clothes. Her eyes have settled into a light brown and her dimples are still rocking! She can pull up to standing and does this allllll the time. She is not a fan of being seated anymore. She loves to make sounds and chat all day. She is about 26 inches tall and weighs just at 20 lbs.

Firsts:
Meeting Aunt Laurel and Uncle David
Trip to Banner Elk to visit friends
Standing/almost cruising
Weekend away from Dad
State fair
Saying Dada/Mama

Challenges:
Our challenges haven't changed much. The lack of sleep with her teeth coming in and trying to keep track of Frankie AND Lark now that she is mobile is tough. Frankie always wants to be outside, but Lark can't just crawl around with all the rocks and mushrooms and stuff she could eat. Its a balancing act. We're trying to figure it out as we go along!

Thoughts:
Nine months in, nine months out. I feel like this went WAY faster than I expected it to, even knowing how fast the first year goes with second babies. Lark is already well on her way to walking and donating YET ANOTHER round of baby clothing was so bizarre. KNOWING Lark is my last is sad in many ways, but so exciting in others. I love watching them grow and love each other. I love seeing how different they are. I have always been so close to my big sister, I hope they feel the same way as they grow up. I'm so looking forward to Lark's first holiday season! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and especially NEW YEARS are going to look so different this year!
