Three Months

And now I no longer have a newborn! Month three was VERY busy and its like she blossomed when my eyes were turned away. Sometimes it truly feels like she grew an inch overnight. We had a pretty busy month with Lark's first trip to Florida and I decided to make a big career change. I put in my resignation at work a few days ago, found Lark a nanny until there's a spot at daycare, and I start my new job in two weeks!

Likes:
Tickles and kisses on her chin
Being addressed/talked directly to
Nested bean sleepsack
Flamingo rattle from the Halls
Starting to like toys/tummy time on the playmat
Attempting to suck her thumb

Dislikes:
Mom's slow boobs
Being put down, but mostly only when hungry
The car seat/long drives
Chilly nights when not cosleeping
Shots (this was a rough doctor's visit for sure!)

Schedule:
WHAT SCHEDULE? Hahaha. I know I should have this figured out a little bit more but I absolutely do not. Over the next two weeks, we really are going to have to get in a groove. Daniel is on paternity leave for the next month and Lark starts at her nanny soon... She will need a consistent schedule! Frankie was out of daycare for 2 of the 4 weeks this month, so there was no real time to make a good schedule. We just made it work! We were lucky to get a few 7 hour nights out of Lark this month and that made the chaos a little easier. Hoping to get us into a groove this month.

Features:
13 lbs and 10 oz, 24 inches long at her doctor's visit last week... so she's probably even bigger now. She went from the 12th percentile in size at birth to the 85th right now. She is BIG. She still has all that amazing fuzzy brown hair and eyebrows. Her eyes are transitioning to brown and I can't wait to see what they do! Still two adorable dimples on her cheeks. She is a little more serious and you have to work a bit to get her to smile. Size one diapers are BARELY fitting her, but we are trying to use what we have. 0-3 month clothes getting packed up as we speak and heading into 3-6 month clothes.

Milestones:
Grabbing and shaking toys
Small giggle
Rolling from front to back, almost over from back to front already
6 ounce bottles

Firsts:
Road trip to Florida
Meeting Grammy Haltiwanger
Meeting like.... literally everyone in Florida
Family bout with Covid (we're all just fine)
Immunizations

Challenges:
My boobs. They're just not producing what she needs and I'm not really willing to make the lifestyle changes that would increase my production (no coffee, no booze, etc). The last few weeks, when she nurses, she inhales a TON of air from trying desperately for more milk to come out and the result has been lots of gas and spit ups. When she drinks from a bottle, that doesn't happen. Throw in Frankie being home for two weeks while Daniel had to work, all of us getting sick, and me transitioning jobs.... yeah, my milk is pretty much gone. I had lots of high hopes for nursing a long time with Lark, but there are so many unexpected challenges with parenting two kids. Frankie is a high-needs kid... peaceful nursing or pumping just wasn't happening. I'm okay with formula feeding. It will be ok!

Thoughts:
SPRING IS HERE! I can't wait to get this baby girl out into the sunshine. Playgrounds and hikes and breweries and boat trips! This coming baby age is absolutely my favorite so I'm looking forward to this springtime and summer with her. Being stuck indoors with a newborn in the winter is a little hard on the soul. Give me the warm temps and bare toes.
