Week 37: Santa, Baby!
Merry Christmas!!!! I had so much hope that maybe the festivities and hosting Christmas brunch for 10 would maybe put me into labor, but... *sigh*... no such luck. Lark seems very comfortable in there, even though I am feeling uncomfortable as heck. I am still losing weight slowly, having painful contractions about once a day, but nothing that progresses. Despite this, we had a WONDERFUL holiday. I am honestly very glad I didn't spend it in the hospital having a baby, as much as I want to not be pregnant anymore. Frankie is really grasping and loving holidays now and she made the holiday so special (and exhausting). I can't believe that next year, I will have a nearly one year old and a nearly 4 year old.
My doctor's appointment this week was uneventful. Cervix is high and closed, got my surgery instructions, got a covid test. As anxious as I am to be done being pregnant, I am also so grateful for a healthy pregnancy this time. As painful as it has been for me, I'm so glad I didn't get preeclampsia again (yet...knock on wood).
How far along? 37 weeksMaternity clothes? Yes. I did even wear REAL maternity clothes a few days this week, rather than just PJs
Stretch marks? No
Ankle Watch: They did swell a little in the days after Christmas, but I am not really surprised by that. I was on my feet for days by that point.
Sleep: Sleep is evasive right now. Naps are helping when I can fit them in, but sleeping at night just isn't happening. I'm in lots of hip/cervical pain and my contractions happen mostly at night.
Best moment(s) this week: We really did have the absolute best Christmas ever. Frankie had a blast, we loved being with family, and it was just all around the perfect day.
Miss Anything? Christmas cocktails and wanting to actually eat.
Movement: She has slowed down, but occasionally, she will go lord of the dance on me and knock the wind right out of me... especially when I lay down at night.
Food cravings: Ice chips and cheese danish pastries.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I am pretty nauseous most of the time for the last few days for no discernable reason other than no room for my organs.
Gender: F
Labor Signs: Pretty painful contractions this week, but nothing that progresses. Have had to stop and take breaks in the grocery store a few times.
Pregnancy Symptoms: I just don't know how I can get any bigger. Lightning crotch so painful it takes my breath away. Hip and back pain, period-like cramps.
Belly Button in or out? Way way way out.
Rings on or off? Both.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but still ready to get this show on the road.
Looking forward to: Labor!
