Week 35: Honk Honk
Okay, so.... I have a BAD upper respiratory infection. I thought having swollen feet last time was bad, NO. I think I would take the swollen feet. Starting Saturday night, I had a cough that just would not quit. Sometimes it was productive, but most of the time it was dry. I just figured that maybe the change in weather and the reduced lung capacity was getting me down. By Tuesday, I was genuinely worried. I was short of breath and had completely lost my voice from hacking all night. I went and had a rapid Covid test done, which came back negative, and then called my OB's office. After a difficult few phone conversations (getting words out aint easy right now- I sound like a wounded elderly goose.... thus the title of this week's entry), I was prescribed a Z-Pack for an upper respiratory infection, told to take Robitussin to reduce my coughing, and given strict instructions to head to the ER if my symptoms got any worse.
The medicine helped IMMENSELY and within a day, my voice was starting to come back. Coughing that hard while THIS pregnant is incredibly painful. I am not 100%, but feeling so much better. Also, glad I didn't end up delivering this baby while so sick because I can't imagine coughing with a c-section wound healing!
In better news, we had out first Christmas celebration of the year with Daniel's family. His brother, Joel, and his girlfriend, Mia, were in town for a few days from Portland and we opened presents together and had a little Sunday brunch. It really was a great time and has me looking forward to my family's arrival next week.
How far along? 35 weeks
Maternity clothes? Pretty much only PJs
Stretch marks? Nope
Ankle Watch: I'm wondering if this will even happen this time!
Sleep: Not much with this cough
Best moment(s) this week: First Christmas celebration of the year with Daniel's family.
Miss Anything? Feeling 100%.
Movement: Yes, and watching my belly move all over is so wild!
Food cravings: Ice chips. I'm really just NOT interested in food. If I have to eat, I want it to be a pastry/sweets.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I tried to eat fish for dinner one night this week and it was NOT happening.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Contractions, hip/back pain, increased discharge.
Pregnancy Symptoms: Just the lovely usual- being big and exhausted. The VV pain is reallllllllly getting old.
Belly Button in or out? Outta this world
Rings on or off? Once I got sick, I took them off and I think they will just stay off for now.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Hard to say- I am grumpy with being sick and the house being a wreck and all of that... but I do love Christmas so much and I'm really loving seeing Frankie's reaction to the holiday fun.
Looking forward to: The last pill of this Z-Pack so I can be all better!
