Week 34: The Lightening
It's been a relatively uneventful week in pregnancy land, which is kind of shocking. I have had one really bad day where my contractions started in the afternoon and just wouldn't quit. Last night, I didn't sleep a wink from itching all over my body. Other than those moments, though, I have felt much better in general. Lark's movement into my pelvis has made for more frequent bathroom breaks, but easier movement and less heartburn, in general.
I know I should not be so anxious to get this baby earthside, but I am. You know the saying that if your last child had been your first child, you wouldn't have had additional children? That is 100% this pregnancy. If my pregnancy with Frankie had been like this, there's no way there would be a Lark.
How far along? 34 weeks
Maternity clothes? Absolutely
Stretch marks? No, but my belly button is weird colors now
Ankle Watch: Slim, but sore arches.
Sleep: I snore so loudly now that I wake myself up several times a night. The itching is also intense. Calling the OB about that as soon as I post this.
Best moment(s) this week: Biltmore Christmas outing with my in-laws and Daniel!
Miss Anything? You know, this week was actually ok? Exhausting, but still ok.
Movement: Ow ow ow ow
Food cravings: Ice chips. Nothing else.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, just don't want to eat at all, even though she has dropped.
Gender: Female
Labor Signs: Oh, the dreaded contractions have begun. Nothing too terribly consistent, but they do catch me off guard mostly in the evenings. Lightening, hooray for breathing!
Pregnancy Symptoms: Rhinitis has subsided somewhat, plantar fasciitis, constant peeing, being large and in charge.
Belly Button in or out? Out. Very out.
Rings on or off? I go back and forth several times a day.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Stressed, but happy. Reallllllly ready for my deadlines at work to be a thing of the past so I can focus on this baby.
Looking forward to: Christmas celebration #1 with Daniel's folks, brother, and girlfriend this weekend.
I also got LOTS of things off my baby checklist this week. The hospital bags are all packed, the car seat is ready to go, and the nursery is complete! Well.... as complete as it is going to be with a very nosy big sister that is convinced everything in the room is hers. Here are a few pictures:
