Week 31: Five Years
Fall is coming to an end and I am sad to see it go... HOWEVER, it means we are one step closer to this winter baby being out of my uterus and in my arms. All of my energy is gone, my hips, back, and feet have begun aching constantly. I can't sit at my desk or my vanity or in the car for more than a few minutes without being uncomfortable. I remember this part of pregnancy last time really well. Gone were the days of nausea and actual bone-crushing exhaustion, but they were replaced with physical pain, insomnia, and anxiety. Actually delivering Frankie was such a weird moment of physical relief. I am looking forward to that feeling again and meeting our daughter!
In fun news this week, Daniel and I celebrated 5 years of marriage. He booked us a little tiny house cabin about 30 minutes away in Black Mountain and Susan and Mark stayed here overnight with the pets and Frankie. It was SO NICE to go to dinner without worrying about when we needed to be home. To wake up in the morning and not have to rush around letting dogs out, feeding cats, dressing a toddler. Besides the beautiful diamond ring he got me (it is GORGEOUS), the time spent together at shops and eating too much food was so welcome. I had no idea when I was pregnant with Frankie how rare these moments would be. Now I know, and while I love our daughters dearly, the time I get with Daniel alone when we aren't working are SACRED.
How far along? 31 weeks
Maternity clothes? Yes, but I was so excited to find out that a few of my non-maternity sweaters are big enough to fit over most of the bump still. It got down to 27 on Saturday! Brrr.
Stretch marks? No
Ankle Watch: Much much more sore this week. Bought some Ugg style boots that are not cute, but they are a size bigger than my usual and very warm.
Sleep: Not great, not the worst. The overnight stay in the cabin was so nice. No pets, no toddler, just peace and plenty of room for me to spread out. I also got a nap in the day after, which was heaven.
Best moment(s) this week: 24 hour date with Daniel in Black Mountain!
Miss Anything? Being able to enjoy all the beers and wines while we were on our date.
Movement: All the time... ouch.
Food cravings: Ice chips. I want to crunch on them all day!
Anything making you queasy or sick: My ankle/foot and back pain are so bad some days that it makes me sick to my stomach. Also, still not really able to figure out how much food my stomach actually wants
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: More Braxton Hicks contractions this week, but nothing else.
Pregnancy Symptoms: Lightening crotch still going strong. The swelling of my feet has started. Back pain, hip pain, indigestion when I don't eat for too long, feeling like a beached whale most of the time.
Belly Button in or out? I just don't even understand the shape.
Rings on or off? On! AND I got a beautiful new one for our anniversary!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but starting to feel emotional and stressed. The holidays are going to be complicated and I am left feeling like I am ruining everyone's Christmas by either a) being so pregnant I can't do anything or b) being in the hospital with a baby.
Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery! At this point, it is all details. I have a few things I need to buy (diaper genie, bottles, some warm swaddles, maybe a wipe warmer?) It really isn't much, I just need to do it. It is nice that I know the baby wont be sleeping in her room for a while, but still. Having a designated place for her when she comes home is important to me!
