Week 26: A Tummy Bug? Let's Hope So!

Everything was going super well this week with my symptoms beyond the expected until Tuesday. I had taken Monday off work to hang out with Frankie for a school holiday, and felt pretty great! However, I woke up early early early on Tuesday morning having a painful contraction/heartburn/nausea. After a few hours, the contractions and general sickness had not gone away. I couldn't stomach any food or drink... not coffee, not toaster strudels, nothing. I slept for several hours and called out of work, but nothing was helping. Finally, I called the doctor around 2 pm, and she had me go take a Covid test. Daniel and I both tested negative, but I still felt absolutely horrible. The doctor thought it was probably just a stomach bug or something like that and told me to monitor symptoms over the next few hours.

Luckily, in the middle of the night that night, I woke up and was actually a little hungry. I treated myself to a bowl of cereal at like 3 am and went back to sleep. Since then, I have slowly felt better and have been able to eat in small spurts. I'm still having heartburn and the occasional wave of nausea, but the contractions have gone back to just having a big, sore belly like normal. I'm very hopeful that it was just a fluke of a tummy bug and I can now go back to the regular discomfort of pregnancy, rather than any additional ailments.

How far along? 26 weeks
Maternity clothes? Yes, for sure.
Stretch marks? No, but little bitty hints of my linea negra is coming back
Ankle Watch: Sore. Not swollen yet. Leg cramps are killing me.
Sleep: Not great. Naps are now necessary.
Best moment(s) this week: We went to a birthday party in Boone this weekend. We had a really great time all weekend! Also, Wednesday date nights with Daniel are becoming my absolute favorite. We went to watch the sunset on the Blueridge Parkway together this week.
Miss Anything? Bending at normal angles.
Movement: Yes! She's all over the place in the mornings
Food cravings: I just want to be full without heartburn.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I mean, considering I was actually sick, I can't answer this fairly
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks, but nothing bad (save my contraction adventure earlier this week)
Pregnancy Symptoms: Heartburn and back pain. Exhaustion from multiple wake up calls. The waddles have begun. My stomach always feels like it is stretched way too thin.
Belly Button in or out? In-ish?
Rings on or off? On. Thank you, fall weather!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, besides the day I was sick
Looking forward to: My maternity photos next week! I also have my glucose challenge test, but let's focus on the fun.
