Week 19: Shy Baby
We had a nice week back at home. We celebrated the end of summer by taking Frankie to pick apples for the first time and she LOVED it. She took a bite out of so many before we could snatch them out of her hands. The farm also had a playground, live music, a hard cider mill, and warm apple cider donuts. I can't wait to go back in a few months when its time to pick pumpkins.
Also on the books this week was our anatomy scan appointment at our OBGYN. It has been MONTHS since we've seen Lark, so I was feeling very anxious. However, this little girl had some ideas of her own. She happily showed off her spine and her booty, but she kept her arms up over her face and wouldn't look at the ultrasound or even give a profile at all. Thanks to this little shy gal's behavior, we have to go back for another ultrasound next month. They need to get a few more measurements that they weren't able to get during this appointment, since she was so shy. However, everything they COULD see looked perfect and we confirmed that she does have a good strong heartbeat, kidneys, a big belly, a nice brain, and a vagina.
How far along? 19 weeks
Maternity clothes? Oh yes.
Stretch marks? No, but starting to put lotion on the belly now.
Ankle Watch: VERY sore, but not swollen.... yet.
Sleep: I had a tough time getting comfy this week. I feel like I am absolutely bigger, and that seems to be translating into restless nights.
Best moment(s) this week: Ultrasound with our shy girl.
Miss Anything? Hard cider at the apple farm. I definitely ate two donuts to make up for it.
Movement: For a few minutes each day now, I can feel her REALLY wiggling. Once we saw her on the ultrasound, I could totally understand why I hadn't felt her as much as Frankie. She's positioned "footling breech", which means her little toes are down near my cervix and her kicks have limited space. But they ARE getting stronger! I felt my first punch from the outside on Wednesday night, which was fun.
Food cravings: Just hungry for sweets pretty much always.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Anything that requires that I cook it, I don't really want it. Just let me eat leftovers and cereal.
Gender: Definitely a girl. It was the only thing she would show us!
Labor Signs: Not yet
Pregnancy Symptoms: Other than the sore joints and sleepless nights, we're doing pretty good.
Belly Button in or out? In
Rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: The nursery has officially started! I found a dresser on marketplace and I will paint the mural soon, once I get up the courage.
