Week 18: Tropical Storm.... in WNC
We're BACK! A week and a half in Florida was great to see friends and also to celebrate my dad's life with family, but we are very happy to be home in North Carolina. As soon as we got home, we got stuck in a tropical storm that made its way all the way to western NC! We got stranded at Mark and Susan's house, thanks to downed power lines and trees across the only roads back to our house. It was definitely a scary experience. In Florida, we don't have mountains that trees fall and slide down at high rates of speed! While the experience with a cranky toddler was VERY stressful, I am glad we were all together for it.
I did also get some things in place for a baby "sprinkle" and I'm getting closer and closer to being ready to work on the nursery.... I really need to find a dresser for that room so I can start unpacking things, figure out what I'm missing. In general, other than how hard traveling with a toddler is, I am feeling much better this week. Really hitting the "stride" of the second trimester and trying to take advantage of the energy!
How far along? 18 weeks
Maternity clothes? Yep
Stretch marks? No.
Ankle Watch: Doing okay....
Sleep: Meh. I could do worse.
Best moment(s) this week: Feeling my very first hard KICK from Lark
Miss Anything? Consistent daycare.
Movement: Got a good hard kick on Tuesday night while laying in bed and it was such a wave of relief. There was no way it was gas or a tummy rumble, it was absolutely a kick. As soon as it happened, I remembered Frankie's kicks and was eager for more. Hopefully she steps it up this week!
Food cravings: Again, nothing really. Feeling pretty normal.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, just the greasy meats still.
Gender: LayDay... and we will get ultrasound confirmation on Monday.
Labor Signs: Nope
Pregnancy Symptoms: I feel pretty good this week overall!
Belly Button in or out? In, getting shallower
Rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but stressed. Work is crazy and there aren't enough hours in a day
Looking forward to: Our anatomy ultrasound on Monday morning. I am so anxious to see this baby again. It has been a few months and I'm just eager to watch her wiggle.
